Samsung had its humble beginning in 1938 in Daegu, South Korea. Lee Byung-Chul, son of a wealthy landowning family, started the company as a trading business. This tiny trading company would eventually grow, evolve, and becomeone of the most successful corporate conglomerates in the world. Its headquarters now reside in Pusan, South Korea.
