Gatsby continued to linger outside the
Buchanan residence, waiting the
foreseen moment when Tom was to unleash his fury against Daisy. He was
eager to come to her rescue, proving his love for her, further breaking
apart the marriage. A few hours went by and nothing happened.
Eventually, Gatsby saw rapidly moving silhouettes and figured it was
time to finally intervene. Gatsby entered the room filled with rage,
moving very swiftly towards Tom. Just as Tom was about to strike Daisy,
Gatsby interferes and grabs Toms arm and proceeds to
throw him to the
ground.A few moments later, Tom ascended, but all of his madness was now
directed towards Gatsby. The tension was building and it seemed as if
Tom and Gatsby were about engage in a fight. Tom then started to spew
hateful words towards Gatsby, but in his defense, he could only endure
so much of the hate until he reached his breaking point. Seconds later,
Tom lay face down on the ground, writhing in pain. Gatsby stood there
standing over his inferior with his fists clenched all the while
glaring down at the weak man who dared to take away his woman.
