The Beginning by Rose, Justin, Angelena, and Rachel

It was late at night. Nick Carraway lay in bed thinking about the events that had unfolded earlier on that evening. He, Gatsby, Daisy, Tom, and Jordan, had gone into the city to escape the unbearable heat. The heat only intesified upon arrival of the city. No one was able to relax, they all seemed to be ignoring the obvious truth about Gatsby and Daisy's affair. The silence did not last long, for soon a ticking time bomb exploded as Tom abruptly confronted Gatsby.

Jordan Baker:   Jordan represents the modern woman in The Great Gatsby.  As an independent woman she instantly attracts Nick, and the two become romantically involved.  Yet Jordan has a noticeable malady, as she is an obsessive liar.  Her death represents the lack of truth within her character.
