...I left to go back to West Egg. When I got there, I made sure to help Daisy out. I’m going to make Tom regret ever bringing me into this mess. I snuck into Tom’s work one night and found everything, all his mail with the secretaries. I exposed him for a liar. He was finished, me and Daisy won and he could do nothing.


 
In the novel, The Great Gatsby, Tom Buchanan represents the strong, ruthless and typical man of the story. He is very controlling and does not like to be taking advantage of. When he almost loses Daisy to Gatsby, he is hurt but uses his anger to portray his emotions. Now, he is risking losing Daisy again by cheating. He likes to yell at people and make them feel less than him.
