In Hitler's SS party, there were many men who were high in ranks and very powerful. During the war, there was one many who was always Hitlers second in command. Hitler's second in command was
Heinrich Himmler, the head of the SS police. At first, he was part of Hitlers private army, called the
Sturm Abteilung, or the Storm Section. He began to rise higher and higher, becoming the head of the Waffen SS and Gestapo, and the Minister of the Interior. Although Hitler was the Dictator of Nazi Germany, Himmler was in charge of the planning and scheming that lead to a mass murder. After Germanys surrender, he fled to Berlin and committed suicide by taking a cyanide pill.
