Short Summary:
The overindulgent king who was removed from his position of
power in Versailles and moved out of the way to Tuileries
Palace. Holy Roman Emperor Leopold II, along with Frederick
William II of Prussia, and in consultation with emigrant French
nobles, sent a message to the French people that other
major European powers were concerned about the French well-being and that
anyone who attempts to harm the royal family (Anyone related to Louis XVI)
would be dealt with severely, and likely killed. However, this message
only caused greater distress among the French community, and as a result they
stormed the Tuileries Palace where Louis was being kept. This led to
hostilities of the surrounding countries, and ultimately to the French
Revolutionary Wars.
