Choose how to begin

On any given Monday, you might start by responding to other texts, which is another way to say that you might begin your week by reading, then adding comments in two blog posts by your peers in your personal learning network.

You might also want to begin your week by responding to an image. If you have a question (from your 10 self/10 world questions) and a keyword (e.g. relationships, Iraq, video games, politics...) in mind, you can search for a Creative Commons image to jump-start this week's blog past.

A third and most common way to begin each week is by producing text. Choose one of your 10 self/10 world questions, and freewrite about that questions in Docs.

Once you have your Google Reader set up, you might also choose to begin your week by responding to feeds. That is, take time to carefully read a few recent blog posts, news items, or articles about your inquiry. Copy specific quotes from these readings and write responses.

A fifth option might be to start your week by responding to audio. Be sure to keep notes in Docs and write responses as you listen to podcasts that you have subscribed to using Google Reader.

1) Write 10 questions that you have about yourself and 10 questions that you have about the world.

2) If you are using Google Docs, make the teacher a collaborator so that the teacher knows who is having trouble and who has not completed the assignment and who needs help with editing the questions so they can be useful to the student for writing and researching.

3) In parenthesis, type at least one tag after each question. (tag is another word for keyword)
