The Grapes of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck tells the story of the Joad family and their journey to a better life in California. As they travel westward and try to find jobs to provide for themselves, they encounter a series of unfortunate events that prove to be harmful to their relationships with one another. In the novel, the Joads are faced with a continuous struggle to protect their family and move forward as one unit. Steinbeck also makes use of several religious references and other literary techniques in order to shed light on the importance of family.
