Our first stop was always
Alexander's. For those of you who are not familiar, Alexander's was a huge departments store that would sell clothes and housewares. It would be considered what like a Walmart is now. And for some reason Polyester was the in thing in the 70's while I was in elementary school because we would come home with blouses and pants of the same damn material. Yes...I was the poster child for polyester.
